Annual Report 2018-19

It’s indeed a great pleasure to present the annual report of Mount Hira English School Pattambi before you for the academic year 2018-19.
Mount Hira English School was established in 2003. Ever since its establishment, we have been one among the best school in Pattambi.
I thank all those eminent personalities who have selflessly devoted their sincere service for our school’s upliftment.
It is also a matter of pride that we have an enthusiastic panel of PTA executives led by Mr. K.P Mohammed Basheer (PTA President).

Academic Achievement: It is to be noted that we have achieved 100% result in AISSE 2019. Three of our students secured Full A1, they are Shymila P, Hamna CP, Ayisha Liyana. All other students secured above 60% score in all subjects. All the winners honoured and awarded special trophies. Shymila P grabbed the district topper award for Arabic.
Our school promotes scholastic and co-scholastic activities for the overall development of the students. Different clubs have been formed to strengthen curricular and extracurricular activities.

Environment Day Celebration: Based on the theme Beat Plastic Pollution we organized different activities on 5th June Eco club members led the anti plastic campaign. All the students took anti plastic pledge in school assembly. Asst. Engineer agricultural department Pattambi inaugurated the programme. 1000 saplings were distributed among students. A special programme named ‘one class one plant in the campus’ and ‘one child one tree at their homes’ was successfully carried out to protect the environment and to make students aware about the importance of plantation.
All special days like Reading day, Independence day, Hiroshima Nagasaki day, Children’s day, teachers day, writer Basheer day, Population day, farmers day, Keralapiravi day, Lunar day, etc were observed with variety of events to enlighten the students about the importance of each day with the significance.
A special procession was arranged to welcome FIFA World Cup 2018 on 12/06/2018 and a friendly match was played between Brazil and Argentina fans.

School Parliament Election: In order to teach the practical democratic lessons, school parliament election was conducted on 26th June. Students casted their votes and the leaders were elected as follow.

Asma V : Head Girl
Shamna Mohamed Ali : Fine Arts & Secretary
Anzil V P : Sports Captain

Flood Relief Activities: The students, parents, staff, PTA and management together worked hand in hand to help the flood affected people of Kerala, especially in Kuttanad- Alappuzha. Students collected essential materials like drinking water, dress and food grains and directly handed over to the needy people in Ist phase. As per the support from parents and merchants of Pattambi, students collected many more materials and supplied in relief camps in phase II. This social responsibility and willingness to help the needy were widely appreciated by the society. More over it was a better experience to the student community.

Anti War Day: Hiroshima and Nagasaki days were observed as anti war days. A peace rally was organized by the students. The whole staff and students proclaimed their readiness to work for a peaceful world.

Swatchh Bharat Abhiyan: School Organized cleanliness drives under Swatchh Bharat Abhiyan. The whole team Mount Hira involved in cleaning drive and cleaned the school premises. Students prepared placards and boards advocating the need and importance of cleanliness throughout the life.

Annual Sports Meet: The annual sports meet was organized on 8th and 9th November. Students competed in various sporting events with great energy and enthusiasm. PTA President Mr. K.P Mohammed Basheer inaugurated the meet and ASI of Police Mr. Velayudan distributed the medals and trophies for winners.

Pulses Cultivation Seminar: Senior scientist from Regional Agricultural Research Centre Pattambi Mr.Purushothaman led the seminar. He presented the scientific method of pulses cultivation and importance of the same in our life. He also inaugurated the harvesting of the pulses cultivated by Eco club members in the campus.

School Kalotsav – Springs 2018: : School Kalotsav was held on 23rd and 24th November. It was a platform to showcase the young skills and talents. Renowned mimicry artist Mr. ‘Sharavanan Peringode’ inaugurated the fest. Competitions were conducted house wise.

School Super League 2018: In corporating with Biju’s app, a critical thinking and aptitude based competition conducted for the middle class and secondary class school students. Toppers were elected to the district level competition. The winners were awarded trophies and certificates.

Health Camp: Eye screening and health awareness camp was organized for students and staff by collaborating with ‘Rayhan Eye Hospital’.

Study Trips: ‘School tours take the students out of classroom to absorb, interact and to be immersed in the history’. We organized study trips as given below

Secondary classes : Mysore & Coorg
Middle Classes : Thiruvanathapuram
Primary Classes : Ernamkulam & Nilampur

All the trips were informative and enjoyable. Students acquired many practical information from the same.

National Mathematics Day: The birth anniversary of great Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan was observed as National Mathematics Day on 31st December. Different activities to make mathematics easy and fun were conducted under mathematics club.

Insight – School Exhibition: School exhibition was held on 12th January 2019. Science, Social Science, Mathematics, arts craft related working model, still models and innovative projects were exhibited by the students. All exhibits were demonstrating to what extend the students have achieved the expected learning out comes.

We Care We Share : We believe that charity is the integral part of every community. ‘He who has no charity deserves no mercy’. We the staff and students of Mount Hira collected one lakh one hundred and fifty one rupees towards the health care project ‘we care we share’ for the sake of patients who suffer from chronic diseases. Our management and PTA appreciated the whole team for the relentless efforts.

School News Letter: : School News letter was published in the month of March 2019 highlighting the main events and achievements of the school during the academic year 2018-19.
Before concluding this report, I would like to express my sincere thanks to school managing committee members, PTA members, teaching and non-teaching staff and to my dear students for their whole hearted support and co-operation.
